Stability of the API
The core code in the JX Application Framework is quite stable, and therefore unlikely to change significantly. However, since we are continually adding new peripheral features and creating add-on libraries, there will always be changes in both the design and the API from one version to the next. (These changes are always carefully documented, of course.) Our policy is never to attempt to maintain source or binary compatibility between releases if this would interfere with the development of the code. As every experienced designer knows, one never really knows what one wants until one has tried several alternatives! (Fred Brooks' famous comment in The Mythical Man Month is, "Plan to throw one away. You will anyway.")
