Dear Sir,
If you are serious about going head-to-head with the commercial offerings
some things are going to need changing. Less than a fortnight ago, I posted
a mail with 4 separate items in it: (1) a usage query, (2) a functionality
request, (3) a GUI consistancy tweak, and (4) a bug.
(1) was sorted out within minutes via this list, and now I find a new
release is available that deals with the other 3 items. My problem is that
I haven't had to fork out a penny, and I haven't had time to let my
excitement build towards a release date of (nominally) sometime-in-2000.
How are people supposed to learn the modern day skills of finding long-term
workarounds and battling with applications when they are presented with
clear user interfaces, robust code, and bug fix turnarounds best measured in
days?
I look forward to your reply.
